Yasuyuki Takagi is a Tokyo-based photographer and director. He studied Media Arts at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, and continues to create in Tokyo today.
In 2012, Takagi was a finalist at the 27th International Hyères Festival of Photography, and he received the same honor in 2014 at the Camera Club of New York's international competition. His personal projects have been exhibited at Capsule Gallery, Corridor Gallery, and Lorimoto Gallery in New York, as well as Artligue Gallery, Chateau de Flamanville, Maison & Objet Paris, and PAD ART FAIR Paris in France. In Japan, his exhibitions include the ASAMA International Photo Festival, Atelier MUJI, IMA Gallery, ISETAN, Kyotographie International Photography Festival, 21_21 Design Sight and Tokyo Design Week.
Takagi's first book, 小さな深い森 (Petite Forêt Profonde), was published in December 2013 by Funny Bones Editions in Paris. His second book, 植木 (UEKI), was released in autumn 2015 by IKI Editions in Leers, France. His latest publication, BLR: Brooklyn Lot Recordings, was launched in autumn 2023 by Neat Papers in Tokyo. Additionally, his work-in-progress book, マロニエ (Marronnier), was shortlisted for the ARLES 2019 Rencontres de la Photographie Dummy Books Award.
As a contributor, Takagi has photographed for esteemed publications such as The New York Times T Magazine, Sunday Telegraph Magazine, Le Monde M Magazine, and Wallpaper Magazine.
In his directing career, he has produced notable works, including How to Be Like Tom Sachs, a portrait of the artist; A Portrait of a Place: Arakicho for Nowness; Hello Korea for the US Olympic and Paralympic Team at the PyeongChang 2018 Games, commissioned by the US Embassy in Seoul; and Jungjin Lee for IMA Living with Photography.
高木康行（Yasuyuki Takagi）は東京を拠点とする写真家・映像ディレクターです。彼はニューヨークのブルックリンにあるプラット・インスティテュートでメディアアーツを学び、現在も東京で創作を続けています。
2012年には、第27回国際エアレス写真祭でファイナリストに選ばれ、2014年にはニューヨークのカメラクラブの国際コンペティションでも同様の栄誉を受けました。彼の個展は、ニューヨークのカプセルギャラリー、コリドーギャラリー、ロリモトギャラリー、フランスのアールティーグギャラリー、フラマンヴィルフェスティバル、パリのメゾン・エ・オブジェ、パリのPADアートフェアなどで開催されました。日本では、IMAギャラリー、京都国際写真祭、浅間国際フォトフェスティバル、アトリエMUJI、21_21デザインサイト、東京デザインウィーク、伊勢丹などで展示を行っています。
著書に写真集『小さな深い森 (Petite Forêt Profonde)』は、2013年12月にパリのファニー・ボーンズ・エディションから出版され、2冊目の写真集『植木（UEKI）』は、2015年秋にフランスのレールでIKIエディションから刊行されました。さらに、進行中の写真集『マロニエ (Marronnier)』は、2019年のアルル国際写真祭のダミーブック賞にノミネートされてました。最新の写真集『BLR: Brooklyn Lot Recordings』は、2023年秋に東京のニートペーパーズから発表されました。
寄稿者として、『ニューヨークタイムズ T マガジン』、サンデー・テレグラフ・マガジン、ル・モンド M マガジン、ウォールペーパー・マガジンなどがあります。
映像ディレクターとしても、アーティストの肖像を描いた『トム・サックスになろう（How to Be Like Tom Sachs）』、Nowness向けの『荒木町の肖像（A Portrait of a Place: Arakicho）』、平昌2018オリンピック・パラリンピックのために米国大使館が委託した『ハロ―・コリア（Hello Korea）』、IMAの『写真と共に生きる ジョンジン・リー（Jungjin Lee for IMA Living with Photography）』など国内外で精力的に制作活動を続けている。
